Revolution(s), a program in the Willowdale area of North York, led by Rodway and Jesse, has a logo! It’s all official business now. Many thanks to Sally C for her creative work in designing the logo. Revolution(s) has a wonderful vision for its work in the Willowdale area:

“We will foster a community of leaders to discover purpose and passion, the value of service and a healthy way of life”.

How? By Discovering through the sport of cycling and outdoor adventure. By Serving their community. By Living through life’s journey in an intentional mentoring relationship. Here, most importantly for the sake of this post, is the logo:

A New Home for the Jane-Finch Team

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 | Posted in Latest Updates | 2 Comments »

We’ve got a new home for our team in Jane-Finch! It’s a storefront space located near two major high schools in our community. You can find us here. We are excited to be more ‘in the midst’ of things with a steady flow of youth passing by throughout the day. The photos show the space’s evolution from cleared out Dollar Store to Youth Unlimited program space:

“DO Something…” That’s the name of Josiah Warren’s mind-boggling idea to run a 133.5km ultramarathon to raise support and awareness for Youth Unlimited North York and three other charities. We are truly blown away by this and hope his endurance test spurs us all on to “do something”.

Learn more about this initiative here, and contribute to Josiah’s fundraising goal!

Last night, the Toronto YU team hosted our bi-annual “Director’s Dinner”. The highlight of the night (thank you, TSN) for me was seeing Tyrone, a participant from our first Blueprints cohort, share his incredible story. It is an inspiring story of a young man becoming confident in himself, pursuing his dreams, and making difficult ethical decisions. It is men like Tyrone that will help re-write the story of Jane-Finch as its fulfills its vast potential.
